George Stephenson slipped into eternity on 16 January 2018.  He was born 17 August 1939, in Leesburg, Florida. His parents George Stephenson and mother Elizabeth Thomas Stephenson and sister Virginia (Ginger) Stephenson preceded him in death. He married Donna Wemple also born in Leesburg and delivered by the same doctor. They first met in college and have been married 56 years. He leaves behind his wife and their four children Lisa Johnson (Dr. Gary Johnson) Houston, TX; James Stephenson (Nancy) Mims; John Stephenson Titusville and Lynn Stephenson Titusville. He had five grandchildren; Michael Johnson, Katie Stephenson, James Stephenson Jr., Sam Stephenson, and Emma Fitzgerald. He was a 21 year veteran of the US Army and a 21 year aerospace worker at KSC. He was a Vietnam veteran Bronze Star recipient and an Army Counterintelligence (CI) Surreptitious Agent and Special Agent In-charge of a CI Resident Office in Europe during the Cold War. While At KSC he was a Resource Protection Analyst and NASA Security Representative on the Space Shuttle TAL team. He received numerous awards including the Silver Snoopy while working at KSC. The Silver Snoopy is awarded by the Astronaut Corps in recognition of exceptional support of the Space Shuttle Program. In retirement he was a volunteer with the Space and Missile Museum at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. For over 30 years he worked with Boy Scouts holding many leadership positions. He also volunteered with his beloved dachshund Roxie, a therapy dog, at Jess Parrish Hospital, Vitas Veterans Program, Children's ward at Florida Hospital Disney Pavilion. Visitation will be 21 January 2018, from 6:00pm-8:00pm, at North Brevard Funeral Home in Titusville, FL. A eulogy will be given at that time.  Last rights will be graveside with full military honors on 22 January 2018, at 12:30pm, at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery. Dr. (Chaplain) Ira Starling Captain USN (Retired) from Virginia Beach, a lifelong friend since their teenage years will be the officiant. He was a great man and will be greatly missed.
