Obituary

William Joseph (Bill) Trudeau (82) of Mims, Florida went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 20 at 6:37 a.m. He passed peacefully in his sleep at home with family near. He was born on August 6, 1939 in Rensselaer, Indiana but lived most of his childhood in Mims, Florida with his mother, stepfather, brother and two sisters. He attended Titusville High School and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force after graduation, serving for six years. During his time of service, he met and married the love of his life, Mae. Soon after being married, he was deployed to Goose Bay in Newfoundland and Labrador where she would not be allowed to join him. Upon his return, they were transferred to Pennsylvania where their first daughter was born. After he completed his service, they moved home to Mims and put down roots, welcoming their second daughter. For nearly 50 years he worked at both the Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, rising to the rank of Quality Engineer before retiring. He thoroughly enjoyed his job and was respected by many. He loved the Lord and was an active member of First Baptist Church of Aurantia where over the years he taught Sunday School, served as an usher, volunteered as a prayer chain contact, and for 50 years served as an active deacon. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Trudeau, his mother, Gladys McLendon, his father, Clifford Trudeau; stepfather, Cyril McLendon; in-laws, Jack and Grace Hurley; and sister, Janice Hackney.
