Obituary

Olympia Nell Rogers, 54, passed away on January 16, 2020. Olympia fought a long hard battle with cancer. Though it pains all of us, her journey was not nearly long enough and she will live forever in the memories she forged in our hearts.   She was born to the late Jack Malcolm Collins and Mary Sue Dowell on December 13, 1965 in Annapolis, Maryland.  Olympia was full of goodness and could carry on a conversation with anyone she met. She was Honest, genuine and a good listener. She had a beautiful smile and her spirit beckoned to strangers. As a matter of fact, she was a caregiver to her parents and there wasn’t much she wouldn’t do to help anyone she knew. She enjoyed traveling to different places and the adventures they gave her.  She would often go to Georgia for her cancer treatments and would share her journey on Facebook.  Olympia loved earrings and wearing an assortment of different types, some colorful and full of character. She loved Woody Wood pecker, plastic canvas and photography. Olympia was an amazing wife, great mother but being a grandmother was by far her favorite thing to be.   There is no doubt that she loved her family and there was nothing more important to her.

Olympia Nell Rogers is survived by her husband of 25 years, Benjamin Rogers; Daughters, Vicki Lewis (Travis) and Lisa Sharp (Aaron); Grandchildren, Kayla, Cody, Candace, Matthew, Reece, Caden, Caleb and Emma; Her Fur baby cats, Kitty puss and Little Miss; Uncle, John Dowell (Karen); Aunt, Dorthea Smith; Cousins, Bob, Larry, and Michael Smith, Jay Dowell, Lisa Lesher, Debbie, Beverly and Denise; First cousins, once removed; Bob, Bruce and Cliff.
