Obituary

Edwin (Ed)  Rahn, 75, of Titusville, FL, passed away October 15, 2020 at home, surrounded  by his loving family, after a two year illness.

Ed was born December 14, 1944, in Punxsutawney, PA, the youngest of four children.  After high school graduation, Ed enlisted in the U.S. Navy.  After his discharge, he put his electronics training to good use and went to work for Sperry Univac (eventually Unisys), doing mainframe computer maintenance.  His employment took him to Ohio, Virginia, Alabama and lastly the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.   When this career ended, he embarked on another more important job – that of ‘Mr. Mom’ for his family.

Ed loved sports of any kind, whether participating by playing softball and basketball, coaching and refereeing soccer games, or rooting for his favorite Pittsburgh teams – Steelers, Pirates and Penguins.  Through the years he was an active member of the Titusville Men’s Garden Club and the Titusville Soccer Club, and his hobbies included backyard gardening, playing pinochle, fishing and searching for a good bargain.

Ed is survived by his wife of 39 years, Betsy Rahn; his daughter Stephanie Rahn of Asheville, NC; his son Andrew Rahn of Titusville, FL; his sister Virginia Croket of Louisville, KY; and his beloved dog Sampson. He was preceded in death by his daughter Kristen Rahn and his sisters Barbara Drozd and Dorothy London.

An outdoor memorial service for Ed will be held 9:30 AM on Thursday October 29th at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, FL.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a favorite charity in his memory.
