Donna J Paulk

December 21, 1940 ~ May 8, 2022 (age 81) 81 Years Old

Obituary

Donnie “Donna” Jean Paulk, 81, went to be with her Lord Jesus after a long battle with cancer on Sunday, May 8, 2022.  She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Wilbur Lewis Paulk, sister, Joan Crowder and brothers, Edward “Sonny” Earl White and Jack Dempsey White, daughter, Tracey Drake, son-in-law Thomas “Ted” Edward Drake, grandsons, Davis Edward Drake and Tanner Lewis Drake.  Other integral members of her surviving family are her nieces and nephews and their children.  She was preceded in death by her parents.  Forest “Willie” White and Virginia White.

Donna was a beautiful, sweet, and a true southern lady.  Most importantly, she loved the Lord.  She was born on December 21, 1940, in Fairhope, Alabama the first of four children.  She grew up in Daphne, Alabama, and graduated as Valedictorian from Fairhope High School.  She worked at Brookley Air Force Base in Mobile, Alabama, as a secretary and met her future soul mate Wilbur “Lewis” Paulk.

Donna and Lewis married on July 3, 1964, at Daphne Baptist Church.  January 1965, they moved to Cape Canaveral, Florida, where Lewis went to work as an engineer for NASA at the Kennedy Space Center.  They welcomed their daughter on December 21, 1965.  Donna went back to work as a secretary in 1978 for NASA at Kennedy Space Center.  Her grandsons Davis and Tanner were born in 1995 and 1997 respectively and they were her absolute pride and joy.  She was always very proud of them and bragged about how handsome and smart they were to her friends and family.  In July 2014, Donna and Lewis celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in a surprise gathering in Fairhope, Alabama.

During her struggles with her health through the years, she always kept the faith.   In fact, her favorite bible verse was Psalm 27, “The LORD is my light and my salvation--whom shall I fear?  The LORD is the stronghold of my life--of whom shall I be afraid?” Donna always knew she would one day walk with her Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

What she enjoyed most was being with her family.  In fact, she always told us “I love my family and there’s nothing I like better than spending time with you all.”

The funeral service will be at 10AM on May 14, 2022 at North Brevard Funeral Home in Titusville, FL 32796 with a visitation before the service from 9-10AM.  The graveside service will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
